OUR COMMITMENTS

Since the creation of our company « Sur un arbre perché », we have chosen to commit ourselves to limit our impact on the environment (whether for the construction of the tree-houses or in our day to day life). We want to sensitize our clients to the discovery of Nature. We believe, as Mister Nicolas Hulot said, that "amazement is the first step before respect".

A natural and sustainable habitat

Our tree-houses are supported by the branches and the trunk. They are perched between 5 to 12 meters high. We only used FSC wood, which means that the wood came from a sustainable forest.

There is neither water nor electricity in the tree-houses. They offer the authentic charm of a night far away from modernity and all electronic devices. Our guests have at their disposal composting toilets inside the cabin. That is how we reduce to zero our energy and water consumption in the tree-houses.

Each tree-house is built respecting the tree. They are nested in Nature and far from the city noises. This “ephemeral construction” is completely reversible. In case we need (in many years!) to disassembly the tree-house, the tree will be left the same way it was before.

Our tree houses are fully integrated in their natural environment because they are built just like perched nests. This harmony between a tree-house and Nature is fundamental to preserve the best way possible its natural environment.

Tree's health is guaranteed

All of our trees were not eligible for a tree-house. The first step was to do a phytosanitary diagnosis to see which one could support a tree-house without endangering the tree's health.

A forestry expert began with the density tests on the chosen trees. The same expert will come back every year to control the health and the evolution of the tree.

Our tree-houses are perched thanks to a particular system of cables and pressing. There is no damage caused to the tree (neither screws, nor nails nor other metallic structure have been used). Our principal concern is to respect the tree. That is why, every 2 years, we adapt the support system to the tree growth.

No living branch has been cut. It is really the tree-house which adapts itself to the tree and not the other way.

Client safety is assured

The tree-house builder is a company which has a real experience in constructing tree-houses. He has built more than 150 tree-houses, most of them are accommodation. Plans and facilities are realized according to special criteria.

Each tree-house has a smoke detector and a fire extinguisher. There are safety nets everywhere around the tree-house to enable children over 2 to sleep in those tree-houses.

Our tree-houses have been evaluated by technical CERES specialists, who has delevired for each cabin a security assessment. The CERES is an independent organization which is specialized in the respect of standards in places like playrooms for children or tree-houses.

Heightening awareness about Nature

Thanks to a bird watcher, we have created pedagogical cards to enable our clients to recognize the bird they can watch during their stay in our tree houses.
